The Parramatta fullback Jarryd Hayne says he's confused by his surprise omission from the New South Wales State Origin rugby league side.
New South Wales coach Ricky Stuart has suggested Hayne switch to five-eighth but Hayne says he's not ready to, which has led to Stuart picking Canberra's Josh Dugan at fullback.
Hayne says he turned his phone off as soon as he heard the team read out and headed to church to chill out.
He says he wasn't worried whether Stuart called him to discuss his omission or not, as he doesn' believe he'll be ready to play in the halves for another two or three years.
The first game of the Origin series is on Wednesday week.
