The French tennis player Virginie Razzano says she will compete in the French Open, starting at the end of this week, despite the death yesterday of her 32-year-old fiance.

Stephane Vidal, who was also Razzano's former coach, died from a brain tumour he'd been battling for nine years, and he insisted last week she had to play at Roland Garros.
