Tiger Woods is confident he will be able to compete in next month's US Open in Maryland, golf's second major tournament of the year.

Woods limped off the TPC Sawgrass course in Florida last week after just nine holes in the Players Championship complaining a knee and Achilles' tendon problems, which have plagued him in recent time.

However he says he hasn't suffered any new damage and while the 14-times major winner indicated there is no timeline for healing he's hopeful he believes he will be able to compete at the US Open in a month's time.
