The New Zealand women's tennis number one Marina Erakovic has won her first round qualifying match for the French Open, beating Croatia's Ajla Tomljanovic 6-4 7-5 at Roland Garros in Paris.
Erakovic, who's ranked 167th in the world, will play Japan's Kummi Nara, who's ranked 35 places higher, in the next round.
Erakovic needs to win that match and the next to qualify for the main draw of the French Open, which starts next week and is the second grand slam event of the year.
