The All Blacks captain Richie McCaw is the New Zealand Rugby Union's next major target having signed first five Dan Carter to a four-year deal.

The 29 year old Carter has confirmed he will play his rugby here through until the 2015 World Cup although he does have a time out clause where he can play overseas or take time off.

The chief executive of the New Zealand Rugby Union Steve Tew hopes retaining Carter will help retain other players.
