England to abstain from FIFA presidential vote

The English Football Association has announced it will abstain from voting in next month's presidential election between Sepp Blatter and Mohamed Bin Hammam.

In a statement released ahead of the vote on the 1st of June, the FA Board said there are well-reported issues which, in the Board's view, make it difficult to support either candidate.

The FA were left aghast by FIFA's executive committee after being comprehensively beaten in the race to host the 2018 World Cup, attracting only two votes, including their own.
