Wolves manager relieved after staying in EPL

The Wolverhampton Wanderer's football manager Mick McCarthy was the most relieved man in England as his side avoided relegation from the Premier League on an extraordinary final day of the competition.

Wolves, who were in and out of the drop zone all day, Wigan Athletic and Blackburn Rovers were left celebrating as they lived to fight another day while Blackpool and Birmingham City were left heartbroken after being relegated.

McCarthy's side still lost their final game of the season 3-2 to Blackburn, but with Birmingham failing to win at Tottenham it didn't matter, and the Wolves manager was a happy man as celebrations began at Wanderers.
