Ernie Els believes the PGA Championship at Wentworth is now a bigger event than The Players Championship in Florida, the tournament dubbed golf's unofficial fifth major.
The South African, who has masterminded a host of changes to the iconic West Course on the outskirts of London, says the alterations he's made to the layout over the past 12 months means it is now as good as any major venue in golf.
Els says the European Tour's flagship event, has a stronger field with seven of the world's top nine players in action from tomorrow.
And he says the 18th hole has a bailout area now whereas there isn't one at at the island green 17th at Sawgrass and the tournament can be lost there.
