All three New Zealand golfers have missed the cut at the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth in a disappointing week in Europe.

Michael Campbell, who shot a one over par 72 on day one, missed the cut by one shot after a four over par 75 to be five over for the tournament.

Campbell bogeyed the 17th and then birdied the final hole and he missed the cut by a single shot. He has made three cuts from the six events he has played on the European Tour this year.

While New Zealand Number One Danny Lee (+6) had a three over 75 and Mark Brown (+9) had a six over par 77 to miss the weekend action.

Heading down the last Lee was on track to make the cut at four over par but he had a disastrous double bogey seven on the par five to bow out of the tournament.

Luke Donald, Matteo Manassero and Alvaro Quiros hold the lead at six under par at the halfway stage.

Meantime over in Japan, David Smail and Richard Lee both snuck inside the cut line at the Diamond Cup.

Smail shot a two under par 70 and Lee fired a three under par 69 to be in a share of 47th place and make the weekend. They are 11 shots behind the leader Japan's Koumei Oda.
