The All Whites defender Winston Reid has received an unwelcome call-up after being selected in a 'Premier League Flop Eleven' by a UK tabloid.
The Sun newspaper has selected what it considers the worst buys of the English season, with Reid installed in defence alongside West Ham team-mate Matthew Upson.
Reid was a $6 million purchase from Danish club FC Midtjylland after stand-out performances for New Zealand at the World Cup in South Africa, but started only three league matches for the Hammers.
The London club were relegated to the second-tier Championship after finishing bottom of the league, conceding 70 goals in just 38 matches.
Also included in the flop XI are Chelsea striker Fernando Torres and Liverpool's England midfielder Joe Cole.
