Wembley final just a step on path to European greatness

5:27 pm on 28 May 2011

Manchester United and Barcelona meet at Wembley on Sunday morning in the final of European football's Champions League in a repeat of the 2009 final in Rome, which Barcelona won 2-0.

The Spanish champions are chasing their third Champions League title in five years while Manchester United has also won the top European trophy three times, and a win at Wembley would be their second in three years - so there's a lot on the line, with the winner joining Bayern Munich and Ajax Amsterdam on four European titles each.

Only three clubs have more than four European triumphs - Liverpool have five, AC Milan seven and Real Madrid nine - and United manager Sir Alex Ferguson admits he's jealous of all those clubs above him but his side have to work hard to get better if they're to climb the roll of honour.
