Women's top seeds find going tough in Paris

8:49 am on 30 May 2011

The women's top seeds continue to fall like flies at the French Tennis Open with the Russian third seed Vera Zvonareva the latest to drop out at Roland Garros losing to compatriot teenager Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in three sets.

The top three women's seeds have now all failed to reach the quarter-finals, however defending champion Francesca Schiavone reached the last eight with a straights sets win over the Serbian Jelena Jankovic.

In the men's draw it's been much plainer sailing for the top seeds with Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer both cruising into the quarterfinals with straight sets wins, Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray, who's battling a badly rolled ankle, play their fourth round matches tonight.
