The world series champion New Zealand rubgy sevens team were unable to put the icing on the cake of another successful season by winning the final leg of the IRB world circuit in Scotland, but coach Gordon Teitjens says the men in blacks ninth title still tastes just as sweet.

The New Zealander's had already wrapped up the series at the penulitmate tournament in London, but failed to reach the final in Edinburgh after losing to Australia in the semi's.

Australia went on to lose the final to South Africa and although conceding he was disappointed with the New Zealanders effort in Scotland, Tietjens was delighted to have reclaimed their world series crown after coming up short in the past two seasons.
