Nadal has doubts about prospects in Paris

5:57 am on 31 May 2011

The perennial mens favourite at the French Tennis Open Rafael Nadal breezed into the quarter-finals with a straight sets win over Ivan Ljubicic last night, before telling the media he isn't playing well enough to win the title this year.

But his Croatian opponent believes if Nadal gets past the Swede Robin Soderling in the quarter-finals he'll be back on course.

The 9th seeded Frenchman Gael Monfils set-up a quarter-final clash with third seed Roger Federer by completing a five set win over the Spanish 7th seed David Ferrer.

Meanwhile Novak Djokovic has been fast-tracked into the semi-finals, given a free pass after the withdrawal of the Italian Fabio Fognini, who injured his leg in the final stages of his marathon fourth round match.

Li Na has become the first Chinese woman to reach the quarter-finals in Paris, where she'll meet the fourth seed from Belarus Viktorias Azarenka.
