The Black Sticks Women's Development hockey team has beaten ninth world ranked Japan 3-2, which means if they win their final game they would draw the five match series.
There were goals from Krystal Forgesson, Jan Burrows and Petrea Webster but Black Sticks Women's Development Team coach, Chris Leslie, says the win was the result of a strong team performance from all individuals.
