bin Hammam to appeal suspension

FIFA's former presidential candidate Mohamed bin Hammam says he'll be appealing his suspension by football's governing body over corruption allegations.

The Qatari head of the Asian Football Confederation abandoned his bid to run against FIFA president Sepp Blatter last weekend, just hours before he was suspended by the ethics committee, pending the outcome of a corruption investigation.

Bin Hammam has accused FIFA's general secretary Jerome Valcke of political bias in his battle with Blatter, and he expects any further investigation to be influenced and manipulated.
