The disgraced New Zealand marathon runner Liza Hunter-Galvan (Lyza Hunter-Galvarn) says she done her time and those opposed to her return to athletics can't do anything about it.

The US-based athlete, who represented New Zealand at the Athens and Beijing Olympics, has just completed a 2-year ban for taking the blood-boosting drug EPO.

Her first event back will be this weekend's Christchurch marathon but that hasn't impressed some of her competitors with national title holder Gabrielle O'Rourke uncomfortable with her inclusion.

However Hunter-Galvan says she's not going to let other people stop her enjoying her return.
