New Zealand's top woman tennis player Marina Erakovic has won her first round match at the Birmingham grasscourt tournament, a major leadup event to Wimbledon.
Erakovic, who was beaten in the opening round of the French Open, drew the unseeded Spaniard Arantxa Parra first up in Birmingham, and won the match 6-4 6-4.
