Fed pulls out of Halle tournament

Roger Federer has pulled out of the Halle grasscourt tennis tournament a day after losing the French Open final to Rafael Nadal.

The Swiss world number three says he's disappointed as the Halle event is one of his favourite tournaments on the ATP World Tour, but his body and especially his groin need a rest after the French Open.

Federer says he feels it's too big a risk to take a chance and aggravate the strained groin before Wimbledon.

The small Halle event is seen as a lower-key Wimbledon preparation event than the Queen's Club tournament in London.
