Hurricanes refuse to say why Nonu and Hammett won't be back

The Hurricanes are refusing to say why they're getting rid of All Blacks midfielder Ma'a Nonu.

Coach Mark Hammett has confirmed neither Nonu and captain Andrew Hore haven't been offered contracts for next year.

Nonu's now expected to move to the Chiefs.

Hammett says he told Nonu he wouldn't be offered a 2012 contract on Monday but won't elaborate on why, saying he doesn't want the issue played out in the media.

There have been reports that Nonu's on field ill discipline has brought about Hammett's decision while 32 year old All Blacks hooker Hore has been getting reduced game time this season.
