Brian Robson quits as Thailand coach

The former Manchester United and England captain Bryan Robson has resigned as Thailand's national football coach.

Robson underwent surgery for throat cancer in March but resumed his coaching duties immediately after being discharged from hospital.

Thailand's football president would only say Robson's contract was terminated by mutual consent, so it's not known if Robson resigned for health reasons.

Under his guidance, Thailand dropped 15 places to 120th in the world rankings after making embarrassing exits from all international competitions.
