Ali Williams says things will look up for Hurricanes discards

8:19 am on 10 June 2011

The Blues lock Ali Williams has spoken with his former All Black team-mates Ma'a Nonu and Andrew Hore about their dumping from the Hurricanes, Williams relating his own experiences of falling out with a coach and switching Super Rugby franchises.

After Williams clashed with then-Blues coach David Nucifora in 2007, he moved to the Crusaders under Mark Hammett, the new Hurricanes coach who was than an assistant in Christchurch.

He says he can see both sides of the story, because a new coach has to stamp his mark on a team, but something good will turn up for Hore and Nonu.

And Williams says it'd be good to see Nonu in the Blues midfield next year rather than his rumoured new side the Chiefs.
