The New Zealand runner Nick Willis has run a season best time in finishing second in a 1500 metre race at an athletics meeting in New York.
Willis, who is just a couple of race into his season, clocked a time of three hours, 36 minutes and 46 seconds to finish just behind the winner David Torrence of the USA.
Also in New York, Kimberley Smith has finished eighth in the New York Mini 10-kilometre road race, her first race since injury forced her withdrawal while leading the Boston Marathon in April.
Smith recorded 32 minutes and 32 seconds, behind winner Linet Masai from Kenya, who ran 31 minutes and 40 seconds.
