Although the series had already been lost, the West Indies gained some consolation through a 103-run victory over India in the fourth one-day cricket international in Antigua with Kieron Pollard top scoring with 70.
The West Indies made 249 for eight in their 50 overs before bowling out India for just 146 in 39 overs thanks to four wickets from Antiguan leg-spinner Anthony Martin and three from Jamaican all-rounder Andre Russell.
Lendl Simmons continued his impressive form this year with 67 from 115 balls but once again he lacked support from the top order and when he was run out the score stood at 103 for five with the Caribbean side were struggling again.
Then came Pollard, known for his big hitting in Twenty20 cricket but without yet truly establishing himself in longer forms of the game.
The Trinidadian delivered one of his more patient innings, ably supported by wicketkeeper Carlton Baugh who made a much-needed 39.
After Friday's final ODI in Kingston, Jamaica, the tour will switch to the five-day format for three test matches.
