Warriors out of Luck for eight weeks

The tireless Warriors rugby league forward Micheal Luck will be out for up to eight weeks after partially dislocating the patella in his left knee.

Luck, who's played over 200 NRL games, suffered the injury in the Warriors' loss to the West Tigers in Sunday's match at Mount Smart Stadium.

Team doctor John Mayhew says an MRI scan shows there's no serious ligament damage which means Luck doesn't need surgery.

Luck says he's unsure at what to expect during his recovery as despite playing over 200 NRL games he's never had a serious knee injury.

Eight weeks out would put a likely return date in early August for the Warriors' match against the Brisbane Broncos in Brisbane.
