Just days after dismantling its selection panel New Zealand Cricket has reappointed Black Caps coach Trent Woodhill until October next year.

Woodhill joined the Black Caps ahead of the Sri Lankan tri-series in August last year.

New Zealand Cricket's Director of Cricket John Buchanan says Woodhill has been recognised as a key influence behind the team's strong fielding performance at the World Cup earlier this year.

Last week New Zealand Cricket announced a revamped selection panel dropping Glenn Turner and Lance Cairns, wtih coach John Wright and interim national selection manager Mark Greatbatch being the only selectors.
