Beckham backs new FIFA moves to combat corruption

The former England captain David Beckham has welcomed FIFA president Sepp Blatter's proposals to change the way future football World Cup hosts are chosen.

Blatter, who won a fourth term as president of football's world governing body at the start of the month, wants FIFA's full membership to make the decision, rather than the ruling executive committee.

Beckham, a key member of England's unsuccessful bid to host the 2018 World Cup, says it's important for people to get behind the winners Russia, and Qatar who won the 2022 bid, but he's optimistic about England's chances beyond that.
