Canada's Paula Findlay and Britain's Alistair Brownlee have registered outstanding performances to win the womens and mens elite events at Kitzbuhel round of the world championship series in Austria.

Findlay made it three straight victories in the womens event in which the New Zealand trio Nicky Samuels, Andrew Hewitt and Kate McIlroy finished within five seconds of each other in 10th, 11th and 12th places.

23 year old Brownlee was sensational in leading all the way in the mens event to go to the top of the world rankings.

The first New Zealander home was Bevan Docherty in 10th place.
