Sri Lanka earn third test draw in England

12:15 pm on 22 June 2011

Kumar Sangakkara scored his first international century in England as Sri Lanka secured a draw when rain brought an early end to the third and final cricket Test in Southampton.

Stand-in captain Sangakkara led his team's fight-back with 119 and Sri Lanka were 334 for five at tea when rain prevented any further play.

369 overs were lost to the weather during the series which England won 1-0.

The teams now play a Twenty20 international in Bristol this weekend before a five-match 50-over series.
