Taylor doubts McCullum will be bitter over captaincy

The newly appointed Black Caps captain Ross Taylor says he hasn't yet spoken to Brendon McCullum after pipping him for the top job.

Taylor replaces Daniel Vettori who stepped down from the role after the World Cup earlier this year.

Taylor and McCullum were both interviewed for the role last week by Black Caps coach John Wright, New Zealand Crircket's director of cricket and former Australia coach John Buchanan and national selection manager Mark Greatbatch.

Taylor took over the vice captaincy when McCullum lost the role in 2009, amid suggestions he was a bad influence on younger members of the side.

Taylor though he doesn't expect McCullum to react badly to missing out.
