Afoa to play 100th game for Blues in Super Rugby qualifier

12:15 pm on 22 June 2011

The Blues prop John Afoa will join All Black team-mates Keven Mealamu and Tony Woodcock when he plays his 100th game for the Super Rugby franchise in Friday night's playoff qualifier against the New South Wales Waratahs at Eden Park.

Afoa's off to Ulster at the end of the end of the year and Blues coach Pat Lam says the 27-year-old's made a huge contribution, especially in the win over the Highlanders that got the Blues into the playoffs.

Lam says Tony Woodcock and Isaia Toeava are still injured but there are no other injury concerns.

Daniel Braid's available after playing club rugby on Saturday but Lam says Luke Braid's been outstanding at openside flanker during his older brother's long injury break.

The team will be named on Wednesday.
