Chelsea have confirmed the appointment of Portugal's Andre Villas-Boas as their new manager, and at 33 years of age he becomes the youngest manager in the English premier league.

Villas-Boas resigned from Porto yesterday and he'll be joining Chelsea on a three year contract, after the London club paid 26-million dollars for his early release.

Villas-Boas worked at Chelsea as a scout under Jose Mourinho, who had also joined the London club from Porto.

He's Chelsea's seventh manager since owner Roman Abramovich took over in 2003.
