The Los Angeles Lakers basketballer Ron Artest wants to change his name to Metta World Peace.
Artest, who won an NBA title with the Lakers last year, has lodged papers at a Los Angeles court to make the change but no reason has been given why he's chosen the name.
Artest recently testified before US Congress to support mental health legislation and in 2004 was given one of the longest bans in NBA history after he sparked a brawl with fans by racing into the stands in Detroit to attack their supporters.
