The All Blacks assistant coach Wayne Smith says he still has plans to be a head coach somewhere in the world but for now he's happy as an assistant.
Smith will leave the All Blacks after the World Cup to become the Chiefs assistant coach for the next two Super Rugby seasons.
After 12 years with the national side, Smith says he couldn't have gone overseas straight away with the All Black game plans and so wants to work with local players for a while yet.
He says he has no problems about working under new new Chiefs coach Dave Rennie.
Smith was born in the Waikato town of Putaruru and says he's looking forward to returning to his roots.
Smith coached the All Blacks in 2000 and 2001 and after a stint overseas, he returned to the team in 2004 alongside Graham Henry and Steve Hansen and since then has helped coach the team to an 86 percent winning record.
