The former New Zealand cricket coach Steve Rixon will be Australia's new fielding coach for the upcoming tours of Sri Lanka and South Africa.
He replaces long-time fielding coach Mike Young who was part of the 2011 World Cup campaign but was not retained by Cricket Australia and is now working with new South Africa coach Gary Kirsten.
Rixon, who's now 57, played 13 Tests for Australia from 1977 to 1985.
Over the past two seasons, Rixon has assisted former Black Caps captain Stephen Fleming with two-time Indian Premier League champions Chennai Super Kings.
