Cleary expected to move to Panthers

The Warriors coach Ivan Cleary is expected to announce today that he is leaving the National Rugby League club at the end of this season.

The Sydney Morning Herald is reporting that Cleary will move to Penrith next year, even though he still has a year left on his contract in Auckland.

Penrith got rid of coach Matthew Elliott earlier this year and the team is currently under the control of caretaker coach Steve Georgallis.

Cleary is the longest-serving coach in Warriors' history having been head coach there since 2006.

The Panthers are believed to have offered Cleary a 5-year-deal.

The Warriors have a week off due to the bye and next Friday night host the Gold Coast Titans in Auckland.
