The Blues first five Stephen Brett has signed a 2-year deal to play in Japan following his commitments in New Zealand this year.
He'll play for the Toyota Verblitz club.
The 25-year-old has played 2 seasons with the Blues following a move from the Crusaders.
He'll play his 31st match for the Blues in Saturday night's Super Rugby semi-final against the Queensland Reds in Brisbane.
He has 39 caps for the Crusaders and 57 for Canterbury.
