Murray breezes into Wimbledon semis

7:14 am on 30 June 2011

The world tennis number four Andy Murray has easily qualified for the semi-finals at Wimbledon, with an emphatic straight sets win over the unseeded Spaniard Feliciano Lopez to make the last four for the third straight year.

Murray has now reached seven Grand Slam semi-finals, more than any other British man in the Open era, but he'll need to raise his game to get past the world number one Rafael Nadal who beat the American Mardy Fish in four sets.

The French 12th seed Jo-Wilfried Tsonga pulled off a stunning upset against Roger Federer coming from two sets down to win in five against the six times champion.

Tsonga's semi-final opponent will be Novak Djokovic who ended the adventure of the 18 year old Australian qualifier Bernard Tomic in four sets.
