The Czech tennis player Petra Kvitova has won the women's singles final at Wimbledon.
Playing her first Grand Slam final, the eighth seeded Kvitova beat Russia's former champion Maria Sharapova in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4.
No joy for Marina Erakovic in the Women's Doubles, the New Zealand number one and her Thai partner Tamarine Tanasugarn have lost their semi-final to Germany's Sabine Lisicki and Samantha Stosur of Australia.
Resuming at 5-5 in the decisive third set after bad light forced them into a second day, Erakovic and Tanasurgarn were two points away from the final before Lisicki and Stosur fought back to take the last set and the match, 6-3 4-6 8-6.
But they proved no match for the second seeded pair of Kveta Peschke and Katarina Srebotnik in the final, the veteran Czech/Slovakian combination easily winning 6-3 6-1.
The American Bryan brothers won the Wimbledon men's doubles for the second time, the top seeded Bob and Mike Bryan beating the eighth seeds Robert Lindstedt of Sweden and Horia Tecau of Romania 6-3 6-4 7-6.
