Novak Djokovic etched his name in Wimbledon history and justified his new place at the top of the tennis world rankings after blasting his way to an emphatic four sets victory over defending champion Rafael Nadal to claim his maiden grass court grand slam title.
The 24-year-old Serb, who's now beaten Nadal in five successive matches this year, not only dethroned the Spaniard at Wimbledon but will usurp the left hander at the top of the rankings when they're released tomorrow.
Djokovic celebrated the victory at his favourite major tournament by eating some of the Centre Court grass - something he can't quite explain.
