The New Zealand women's football team has drawn 2-all with Mexico in their final pool match at the Fifa World Cup in Germany.

The Football Ferns trailled 2-nil at half time.

Captain Rebecca Smith scored on 90 minutes with Hannah Wilkinson grabbing the equaliser with the last kick of the match.

The New Zealanders finished the tournament with 1 point following 2-1 losses to both England and Japan.
