Woods pulls out of British Open

Tiger Woods has pulled out of next week's British Open at Royal St George's, casting further doubt on his golfing future.

The winner of 14 major titles injured his left knee and achilles tendon in the third round of the Masters nearlty three months ago, and he's withdrawn from the year's third major championship on doctor's advice.

He says he'll return to the game only when he's 100 percent fit, and he believes his best years are still ahead of him.

His place in the field will be taken by the Australian Brendan Jones.
