Ticket sales for the Rugby World Cup have topped the one million mark.
The chief executive of RNZ 2011, Martin Snedden, says ticket revenue has reached $220 million taking them to over eighty percent of their final revenue target.
RNZ 2011 is forecasting total sales revenue of $268.5 million based on expected ticket sales of 1.35 million from the 48 tournament matches.
Over the last six weeks fans have purchased 211,000 tickets with a value of $51 million.
