FIFA ban CONCACAF hopeful

The power struggle to take over the FIFA vice-presidency vacated by Jack Warner has taken another twist after football's governing body announced it's again banned Lisle Austin from football-related activities.

Austin went to court in the Bahamas last week to try to force through his appointment as successor to Warner as president of the CONCACAF confederation - a position which includes being a FIFA vice-president.

Austin, from Barbados, had been banned by CONCACAF and FIFA but the 75-year-old, a long-time ally of Warner's, emerged from the court claiming victory.

But FIFA's disciplinary committee has taken further action against him for his decision to go to the civil courts rather than the Court of Arbitration of Sport.

Warner announced last month he was quitting football after being provisionally suspended by FIFA on bribery charges.
