The Auckland shot-putter Siositina Hakeai has finished 7th in the girls final at the World Youth Athletics Championships in Lille.
Hakeai threw a best of 13 point 73 in the final, 83cm below her best, and finished 1 and a half metres behind the Chinese winner.
Fellow shot-putter Merewarihi Vaka, long jumper Brendan Barrett, high jumper Keeley O'Hagen and 1500 metre runner Margot Gibson all failed to make finals.
