Black Sticks beat Korea

6:38 am on 13 July 2011

The New Zealand men's hockey team has started the 4-Nation tournament in London with a 2-nil victory over South Korea.

Despite enjoying the majority of the possession in the first half the Black Sticks were unable to convert a succession of penalty corners and it wasn't until just before the break that Simon Child was able to score a field goal.

The game jumped into life in the second half with New Zealand captain Phil Burrows having a couple of good chances, before Nick Wilson scored their second midway through the half.

Meanwhile Belgium scored 3 late goals to beat England 4-2.

New Zealand play Belgium tomorrow.
