The North Harbour Rugby Union has expressed complete suprise with media reports that former All Black Luke McAlister is no longer with the team.
There were reports that McAlister had either walked out or been dumped after not making the side for their opening ITM Cup match against Otago in Dunedin tomorrow night.
North Harbour chief executive Brett Hollister says McAlister has signed to play for the team and is expected to remain part of the squad.
He says it's up to coach Liam Barry to select his team each week and he will make those selections from the wider squad based on his assessment of the players available.
