Wallabies' coach Robbie Deans says he expected the outpouring of indignation over Australia's shock 32-23 rugby loss to Samoa.

Embarrassing, arrogant, complacent and disrespectful are just some of the terms former players and other pundits have used.

Deans was typically terse in response but admits fans should expect more and the reaction's to be expected as the loss wasn't a great experience.

Former Wallaby David Campese says too many inexperienced players were drafted in for Queensland Reds players.

But Deans says he had to rest the Reds players or bring them on from the bench and

the Wallabies' problem wasn't complacency: they just didn't play well.

He's not saying how much the loss team selection for this weekend's Tri Nations opener against South Africa.
