St George Illawarra thrilled their home fans with a 38-8 demolition of the Cronulla Sharks in Monday night's National Rugby League match.
The departing Dragons star Mark Gasnier was outshone by Matt Cooper who stole the show and started the scoring spree with the first try after four minutes with his first touch in his return match after four weeks off with a fractured eye socket.
Cronulla's winger Matthew Wright was stretchered off early in the second half with a neck injury and taken to hospital but Sharks officials were confident the injury was not serious.
The Dragons remain in third place on the table and Cronulla stay 10th.
The Warriors are in sixth place, two points ahead of the next three teams.
