Contador drug hearing deferred again

5:54 am on 27 July 2011

The drugs case surrounding the three times Tour de France champion Alberto Contador has been further postponed, probaby until November.

Contador's case was to have been heard by the Court of Arbitration for Sport early next month, having been originally deferred from early June, allowing the Spaniard to defend his Tour de France title.

The request for a new date was put forward by the World Anti-Doping Agency, which along with world cycling's governing body, is appealing against the Spanish cycling federation's decision to acquit 28-year-old Contador over a failed doping case.
